Bhopal: The auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti was celebrated with fervour and devotion in the city, as thousands of devotees gathered to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism.
The day began with devotees congregating at various Jain temples across the city to offer prayers and seek blessings. Special prayers were conducted in reverence to Lord Mahavir, with hymns and chants echoing through the temples, creating an atmosphere of serenity and spiritual upliftment. Devotees, adorned in traditional attire, participated in the rituals with utmost devotion, expressing their reverence for the revered spiritual figure.
Shobha Yatra taken out
Following the morning prayers, a grand procession was taken out through the streets of Bhopal, symbolizing the teachings and principles espoused by Lord Mahavir. The procession, adorned with vibrant decorations and accompanied by melodious bhajans, showcased the essence of Jain philosophy, emphasizing non-violence, compassion, and self-discipline. CM Mohan Yadav also participated in the procession along with his family. CM also greeted people on the occasion. He told that the teachings of Lord Mahavir are important. We have taken many decisions since the formation of the government. Lord Mahavir has been made a part of our education policy.
