Maharashtra Congress chief demands EC give documents to representatives of candidates

Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Nana Patole on Friday demanded the state Chief Electoral Officer arrange to give copy of form 17C part two, round wise table and final results to the representatives of candidates immediately for verification.

In a letter to the CEO, Patole also emphasised that instructions about sharing the documents with candidate representatives should be given to all officers involved with Saturday’s counting for the state Assembly polls.

Patole said Form 17C should be signed by the counting representative and handed over to the Returning Officer by the Counting Supervisor after round-wise counting at the counting table as per the provisions of the Representation of the People Act for fair and transparent elections.

He said before that a secondary copy should be given immediately to the counting representative or the candidate representative.

Also, the second copy of Schedule 57 should be immediately given to the candidate representative as per schedule prepared by the Assistant Election Officer.
