Action taken on cash, illicit liquor, drugs, precious metals
Bhopal: The code of conduct has become fully effective in the state from October 9 regarding the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023. As soon as the code of conduct came into force, the joint team of Flying Squad (FST) and police formed in the districts intensified the action to conduct a free and fair election process. The joint team took major action and seized cash, illicit liquor, drugs and precious metals worth Rs 1 crore 81 lakh 97 thousand 930.
The joint team has seized only Rs 14 lakh 90 thousand 320 in cash in one day. Apart from this, 5915.69 liters of illicit liquor worth Rs 13 lakh 50 thousand 405, intoxicants worth Rs 22 lakh 68 thousand 910, precious metals worth Rs 85 lakh and various materials worth Rs 1 lakh 37 thousand 600 have been seized.
The Excise Department is taking major action regarding the seizure of illegal liquor and Mahua Lahan across the state. The department has also taken action against 3999 liters of illicit liquor worth Rs 10 lakh 67 thousand 495 and Mahua Lahan worth Rs 33 lakh 83 thousand 200.
4 quintals of silver seized
Police have seized more than four quintals of silver from a car at the interstate check post in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.
Police said that in view of the upcoming assembly elections, four quintals of silver and 67 kg were recovered during intensive checking at the interstate check post Malthon Naka. Telangana was being taken from Agra to Andhra Pradesh. riding in the car
Silver anklets, bracelets and chain jewelry were found from Umesh Goyal and Amit Agarwal, residents of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. When weighed with a fork, the total weight of the silver jewelry (anklet, bracelet, chain) was 467.666 kg. The current market price has been found to be around Rs 3 crore, 22 lakh, 22 thousand, 187. Seizure action has been taken by the police. Both the persons were taking these jewelry from Agra to Hyderabad (Telangana) and Vijayabada (Andhra Pradesh).
