Less than a month is left for the rainy season in the state. Meanwhile, in view of the problems arising during the rains, the state government on Monday tested disaster management preparedness, Chief Secretary Veera Rana said and held a meeting with top officers of the departments. During this, she said that the concerned departments should make all necessary arrangements, so that in case of flood, heavy rain etc., relief and rescue work can be done on time. The Chief Secretary first examined the preparations related to the Home Department, in case of heavy rain and flood situation, the police and home guards have to take charge first. In such a situation, information was taken about speed boats and other boats, life guards etc. to help the people trapped in the flood and instructions have been given to ensure preparations for all necessary security arrangements for flood protection in all the districts. Instructions were also given to identify such places which are considered sensitive areas due to floods etc.
