Manila, Jan 21 (UNI) The death toll due to landslides and severe flooding in the Davao region in southern Philippines has climbed to 15, official data showed on Sunday.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said that 13 people died in Davao de Oro province and two in Davao City.
The agency also said that at least five people were injured.
The agency said over 83,000 families, or more than 349,000 people, have been affected by flooding and landslides due to massive rains in five provinces in the Davao region on Mindanao island.
The heavy downpour from Monday to Thursday resulted in flooding and several landslides across the region, the agency said.
