Dastak campaign will run from 30 Jan to 28 Feb

Bhopal: The meeting of the District Task Force under Adult BCG Vaccination was held for the second phase of Dastak campaign. The meeting was held in the workshop collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Panchayat CEO Shri Rituraj Singh.

CEO Shri Singh said that the second phase of Dastak campaign will run from 30 January to 28 February 2024. Major childhood diseases in children aged between 9 months to 5 years will be identified and treated at the community level. So that the expected reduction in child mortality rate can be brought about. For this, under the campaign, a team of ANM, Asha and Anganwadi workers are going door-to-door to collect information about the health of children up to 5 years of age. All the family members are requested to provide complete information about the health of the children to Dastak Dal and also get free treatment in government health institutions if symptoms of diseases are seen.

Doctors from private sectors are also participating

Singh said that doctors from private sectors are also participating in the campaign, so that the children coming to private nursing homes or clinics can also be provided health services under the Dastak campaign. Under the campaign, about three lakh children in Bhopal will be benefited from health and nutrition services. Under the campaign, 12 types of various services related to children’s health are being provided. The campaign includes identification of sick newborn children, identification and referral and management of pneumonia and severely malnourished children, screening and management of anemia in children aged 6 months to 5 years through digital hemoglobinometer, identification of diarrhea and use of ORS and Zinc. Awareness, intake of Vitamin A supplements for children aged 9 months to 5 years, identification of congenital malformations and developmental delays, identification and treatment of visually impaired and hearing impaired children, advice on infant and childhood diet, discharge from SNCU and NRC. Screening and follow-up of the disease in children, vaccination of partially vaccinated or missed children is being done.
