- BJP leader calls him ‘Pakistani agent’
Bhopal – Congress MLA Arif Masood continues to face threats for a second consecutive day, with the situation escalating after BJP leader Krishna Ghadge delivered a provocative speech during a rally held to protest the Pahalgam terror attack.
In his speech, Ghadge allegedly called Masood and his followers “dogs” and threatened to kill them, reportedly in the presence of police officials. He further claimed, “Pakistani agents are present here,” though he did not name anyone directly. The speech sparked outrage, with Congress councillor Naseem Ghafoor filing a formal complaint at the Jahangirabad police station, demanding immediate legal action against Ghadge for inciting communal hatred and issuing death threats.
Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh has also intervened, urging the police to provide Masood with security in light of the growing threats.
This comes just a day after another threat surfaced on social media. A man named Sachin Suryavanshi posted a message stating, “I will kill Masood tomorrow.” The situation grew more tense when a photo of Suryavanshi with BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma surfaced online, adding to the controversy.
As the political temperature rises, police have launched an investigation into both incidents. The Congress party has demanded that anyone referred to as a “Pakistani agent” also be identified and investigated.
