Bhopal: A woman riding a scooty died on the spot after being hit by a truck in a tragic accident on Monday night on the highway located in Sukhi Sewania police station area. The deceased has been identified as Rashmi Devi Ahirwar (33 years). She was a resident of Sharda Vihar Colony.
According to eyewitnesses and family members, the truck hit the scooty while overtaking. Rashmi died instantly due to serious head injury.
Deceased went out to buy goods
Rashmi was returning home after buying goods from the market on Monday evening. This accident happened around 6:30 pm. A youth present at the spot informed her husband Surendra Kumar Ahirwar through the deceased’s phone. According to Surendra, “It is clearly visible in the CCTV footage that the truck overtook the scooty and Rashmi came under the truck.” CCTV of the accident has also surfaced.
Search for truck driver continues
Police registered a case and got the postmortem of the body done on Tuesday morning and handed it over to the family. At present, the truck driver is being searched. The negligence of the truck is clearly visible in the CCTV footage of the accident. Police say that the truck number is being identified, so that the accused driver can be arrested soon.
