Bhopal: Annual “Anti-Hijack Mock Drill” was organized at Raja Bhoj Airport, Bhopal on Monday. The aim of this exercise was to ensure quick and coordinated response in emergency situations like aircraft hijack.
During the drill, a symbolic situation of hijacking of an aircraft was created, in which quick and planned response was implemented as soon as the information of hijack was received. As soon as the information of hijack of the aircraft was received by the ATC, all the members of the Aerodrome Committee were immediately informed, after which all the members gathered in the Aerodrome Committee Control Room located on the second floor of the Technical Block at Bhopal Airport. This committee is chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department), which ensures quick action by coordinating with the Central Committee.
