Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal, under the leadership of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, organized an insightful lecture titled “Words That Heal: Mastering Communication in Medical Practice” on June 30, 2025. The Department of Physiology hosted the session, which featured Mr. Rajesh Bhat, Head & Coordinator of MP Akashwani, as the guest speaker.
Bhat emphasized the transformative role of compassionate communication in healthcare. He stated, “Every word spoken to a patient should carry the potent vibration of your genuine soul, infused with healing intention and compassionate energy.” His words struck a deep chord with faculty, MBBS and nursing students, and staff in attendance.
With rising instances of violence against healthcare workers, the lecture highlighted the critical need for empathetic dialogue in medical settings. Mr. Bhat stressed the importance of active listening, non-verbal cues like positive body language, and a comforting touch as key elements of patient care.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh remarked, “Effective communication is as vital as clinical skills in healing.” The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Rajnish Joshi (Dean, Academics), Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Wakode (HoD, Physiology), and Dr. Arneet Arora. The organizing team included Dr. Varun Malhotra and members of the Scientific Committee.
