Singhar accuses inhumane treatment of a tribal youth

  • Administration denies the allegation

Bhopal/Chhindwara, Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Umang Singhar, has posted a video on social media alleging inhuman treatment of a tribal youth in Chhindwara district. However, the district administration has denied these claims, stating that the police report filed by the complainant makes no mention of such an incident.

Singhar’s X post today included a video, claiming that Rajkumar Batti, a tribal youth from Chhindwara, accused a Harrai-area dhaba owner of assault, spitting, and urinating in his mouth on the night of June 29. Batti reportedly went to the dhaba to collect ????? (due) wages. Singhar urged the government to take strict action against rising serious crimes in the state.

In response, the Chhindwara district administration, citing information from the Amarwada ?????? (Sub-Divisional Magistrate), clarified the sequence of events on social media. They stated that Rajkumar Batti of village Tuiyapani was indeed assaulted on June 29. The incident stemmed from a dispute over money between dhaba owner Raja Chaukse and Batti’s cousins, Aafat Batti and Naveen Batti, who worked at the dhaba. After Aafat and Naveen left their jobs, Raja Chaukse, Golu Malviya, and Ankit Kahar allegedly arrived at Batti’s home, leading to an argument and subsequent assault on Rajkumar. When he raised an alarm, his brother Naveen and wife Janki Batti intervened and were also assaulted. The administration confirmed that Rajkumar Batti filed a report at Amarwada police station, which does not record any acts of inhuman treatment as alleged by Singhar.
