Why is BJP shocked by the revelation of fake voting?

  • Jitu Patwari questions BJP

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President, Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari, has accused the BJP of being rattled by Rahul Gandhi’s “sensational revelations” regarding widespread bogus voting. Patwari claims that the BJP leadership’s furious reactions clearly demonstrate their panic over the allegations, which he says have exposed a systematic attempt to undermine democracy.

Patwari emphasized that Rahul Gandhi’s detailed press conference was not just a partisan issue but a matter of concern for every citizen who believes in the power of their vote. He pointed to several examples cited by Gandhi:

* Karnataka: Over 1 lakh bogus voters were allegedly added to the electoral roll in the Mahadevapura assembly constituency, which led to a BJP victory.

* Haryana: The BJP won the state election with a mere 22,000 more votes than the Congress, even though alleged 1 lakh bogus votes were discovered in just one constituency.

* Maharashtra: Over 10 million voters were added in just five months, a figure that exceeded the state’s adult population.

Madhya Pradesh: The BJP reportedly won with EVMs despite losing the postal ballots, raising questions about electoral integrity.

Call for action and accountability

Patwari asserted that these revelations clearly show a deep-seated interference by the BJP in constitutional and electoral institutions. He stated, “The BJP is afraid that if this truth comes out, their entire narrative will be exposed.” He believes that the BJP’s leaders are resorting to absurd statements to divert attention because the truth has made them uncomfortable.

Patwari also raised serious questions about the Election Commission (EC), accusing it of becoming a tool for the ruling party. He criticized the EC for refusing to provide voter lists to opposition leaders, even when presented with evidence of irregularities. Patwari urged the people of India to join this fight, stressing that the integrity of their vote is essential to their democratic existence. He concluded by calling on citizens to demand answers from both the BJP and the Election Commission.
