Villagers are being made aware through “Tiger Chaupal”

  • Reducing man-animal conflict at Pench

Bhopal: Pench Tiger Reserve of Seoni district is making local villagers aware by showing tiger film through “Tiger Chaupal” for the conservation of wild animals as well as to avoid human-wildlife conflict.

In this innovation, the film is being shown every evening in some village of the buffer zone. Through the film, it is being told that when a wild animal is rescued by the forest department near the village and farm, then there should be no crowd there and the rescue team of the forest department should be supported by not getting misled by unwanted people. In the tiger chaupal, all the people of the village are gathered at one place by the forest department team, apart from showing the film, information about the ways to protect from wild animals is also being given. This campaign is being run daily in all the villages of the buffer zone of Pench Tiger Reserve in Seoni district, and information is being given regarding conservation of wild animals and prevention of human-wildlife conflict.
