Two-day workshop on Administrative & Financial Management kicks off at BMHRC

Bhopal: A two-day training workshop commenced on Thursday at the Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC), aimed at enhancing the administrative and financial expertise of scientists and officials from government-run Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDLs) and Inter-Disciplinary Research Diagnostic Laboratories (IRDLs) nationwide.

Acting Director Dr. Manisha Srivastava inaugurated the workshop, emphasizing that a strong grasp of administrative and financial regulations is crucial for the smooth execution of research projects. The training is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to effectively manage their laboratories’ financial operations.

Key sessions will focus on procurement procedures, with a special emphasis on using the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. Participants will also receive training on vital topics such as accounting, audit management, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. These sessions aim to equip researchers with a holistic skill set essential for modern scientific management.

Distinguished speakers, including ICMR’s Senior Accounts Officer M.A. Parvez, and BMHRC’s Deputy Director of Finance Atul Jain, attended the event. The workshop, with approximately 30 participants, is a significant step toward streamlining research administration and ensuring transparency in government-funded research.
