According to the IMD, the active monsoon trough at mean sea level currently extends from Suratgarh, Bhiwani, Aligarh, Banda, Daltonganj, and the low-pressure area over South Jharkhand and adjoining regions, stretching southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal via Digha.

Furthermore, a trough extends from southwest Uttar Pradesh across North Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh to the cyclonic circulation associated with the low-pressure area over South Jharkhand, between 0.9 and 1.5 km above mean sea level. Another significant trough extends from the northeast Arabian Sea to the South Gujarat region, North Madhya Maharashtra, South Madhya Pradesh, and North Chhattisgarh, reaching the cyclonic circulation over South Jharkhand between 4.5 and 7.6 km above mean sea level, fueling the intense weather activity.
