Hyderabad, (UNI) Sreenidi Deccan recorded their fourth consecutive win in the 2023-24
I-League when they handed out a 2-0 defeat to Namdhari FC at the Deccan Arena here on Sunday.
Nigerian midfielder Rilwan Olanrewaju Hassan proved to be the trump card for the winners scoring both goals.
Hassan struck a goal in each half, as Sreenidi romped home to their 10th victory in the ongoing campaign. Namdhari, on the other hand, had more misery in store for them, when defender Harpreet Singh received his marching orders after a second bookable offence in the second half injury time.
With this win, Sreenidi Deccan have now closed the gap between them and table toppers Mohammedan Sporting to just two points.
However, the Deccan Warriors continue to remain third on the I-League table with 32 points for now, as they are on the same points as second-placed Gokulam Kerala FC, but are behind on goal difference; Sreenidi have played a match less, though.
Namdhari, on the other hand, remain in the 11th spot with just 12 points to their name.
