New Delhi, Sept 22 (UNI) As the Next Generation GST reforms rolled out across the country today, Home Minister Amit Shah called it a historic step in the Modi government’s mission to empower the poor, youth, farmers and women.
In a series of posts on X, Shah said the sweeping changes in GST structure will significantly reduce everyday expenses and catalyse India’s march toward becoming the world’s most prosperous nation.
“The #NextGenGSTReforms are a testament to PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s steely resolve to serve the poor, youth, farmers, and women. The new reforms will further reduce their expenditures with drastic cuts in GST rates on a wide range of goods and will move the wheel of India’s growth even faster on the path of becoming the most prosperous country in the world,” Shah said.
Highlighting the broader economic impact, Shah stated that the reforms are not only easing the burden on consumers but also creating more opportunities for the middle class.
“The Modi government is increasing the income of the middle class by opening plenty of opportunities for them and ensuring that their savings rise constantly through #NextGenGSTReforms,” the Home Minister said.
He further added, “The steep reduction in the GST rates of daily essentials, healthcare products, electronic appliances, and educational items will boost their disposable income and encourage them to save even more”.
