Mumbai, Aug 25 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Friday lost further by 365.83 points, below 65K to close at 64,886.51 as heavy selling was seen in real estate, power, and capital goods stocks amid weak global cues.
The Nifty fell 120.90 points to 19,265.80.
The Sensex declined 252 points to 65,000.67 in opening trade. It dropped 520 pts to 64,732.57, a day low during the day, before closing at 64,886.51, sliding 365.83 pts from its previous close.
In stocks, real estate fell by 1.27 percent, power by 1.26 percent, and capital goods by 1.29 percent.
In 31 scrips, 7 advanced, 23 declined, and one remained unchanged.
The losers were LT by 2.07 pc to Rs 2632, JSW Steel by 1.98 pc to Rs 772.20, IndusInd Bank by 1.89 pc to Rs 1397.80, Powergrid by 1.71 pc to Rs 242.10, and ITC by 1.66 pc to Rs 443.25.
The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 2.24 pc to Rs 1502, Asian Paints by 0.98 pc to Rs 3258, Bajaj Finance by 0.64 pc to Rs 7180.05, and Bharti Airtel by 0.41 pc to Rs 873.
The Asian market remained negative as the Nikkei fell by 2.10, the Hang Seng by 0.51 percent, and Taiwan weighted by 1.76 percent.
