- Caught red-handed
Bhopal, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Bhopal Railway Station have successfully apprehended a cunning thief caught in the act of stealing faucets from a train bathroom. The incident occurred on May 28th on Platform Number 5 during a routine patrol.
Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Prashant Yadav reported that RPF Sub-Inspectors Avdhesh Kumar, R. Krishna Kumar, and Madhusudan Yadav were on patrol when they heard suspicious noises from the bathroom of coach S/2 on train number 19711/12. Upon investigation, they discovered a young man actively removing a faucet.
The apprehended individual was identified as 30-year-old Dinesh Ahirwar, a resident of Bhopal. Two faucets were recovered from his pockets. During questioning, Ahirwar confessed to stealing four more faucets two days prior and selling them to a scrap dealer.
The RPF team promptly located the scrap dealer, 20-year-old Sameer Khan from Bhopal. They recovered the four stolen faucets and other items, valued at approximately Rs 2590. Dinesh Ahirwar has been charged under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act and the Railways Act. Due to his lack of a permanent address and potential criminal history, he was arrested and his family notified.
