Preparation for Festive Travel Surge
Bhopal: With the festive season swelling passenger numbers, railway management is demonstrating a vigorous commitment to service quality, safety, and hygiene. In two separate but related moves, the Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Bhopal and Jabalpur conducted sweeping, surprise inspections of key facilities, including stations, linen laundries, and kitchens. These simultaneous vigilance drives underscore the administration’s resolve to guarantee a seamless, clean, and secure travel experience for the thousands of travellers utilizing the West Central Railway network during this peak period.
Bhopal DRM Targets Hygiene and Operational Excellence
Bhopal DRM, Pankaj Tyagi, led a surprise inspection of the Bhopal Railway Station, primarily to confirm smooth crowd management and security arrangements for the upcoming Chhath Puja rush. Beyond the station, the focus shifted sharply to hygiene.
Mr. Tyagi meticulously inspected the Linen Laundry, stressing the mandate to provide only high-quality, sanitized bedrolls, and checking the mechanized washing processes. He also conducted a review of the Coaching Depot’s Over Hauling (IOH) procedures and the IRCTC Base Kitchen, where he verified sanitation standards and demanded the consistent supply of quality food, finding the cleanliness satisfactory. Senior officials, including Sr. DCM Saurabh Kataria, were present, signalling the seriousness of the quality check.

Jabalpur DRM Reviews Station Preparedness for Peak Load
In a parallel show of readiness, Jabalpur DRM, Kamal Kumar Talreja, conducted an extensive station review with various branch officers. His inspection concentrated on operational efficiency for the festive peak, scrutinizing all key passenger amenity points.
Talreja reviewed entrance/exit points, seating, digital information systems, and CCTV surveillance. Special instructions were issued to officers to strengthen security and ensure smooth passenger movement. The administration confirmed that proper barricading and directional signage are now in place, supported by extra RPF, GRP, and ticket-checking personnel to manage crowds and prevent disorder. Regular announcements and a dedicated passenger assistance counter are also operational to provide immediate support to travellers.
