Powering ‘Simhastha 2028’: Minister Tomar Directs MP Transco to Ensure Timely, Quality Work

Jabalpur, October 13: Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar has underscored the critical importance of Simhastha 2028, calling it a top priority for the state government. Chairing a review of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MP Transco) projects, the Minister directed officials to maintain strict, regular oversight and complete all Simhastha-related works within the stipulated timeframe and with high quality.

Managing Director Sunil Tiwari briefed the Minister on the progress of MP Transco’s efforts to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Ujjain for the major event.

The review focused on the first phase of construction, specifically the new 132 kV substations at Chintaman and Triveni Vihar. Further efforts include significant capacity upgrades: the 220 kV substation at Shankarpura is being boosted from 20 MVA to 50 MVA, and a new 50 MVA transformer is being installed at the 400 kV Tajpur substation. Minister Tomar stressed that these projects must be executed with urgency to guarantee a seamless Simhastha experience.
