New Delhi, Sept 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of Navratri, saying the festival is a time of renewed spiritual and national energy.
In a message posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, “Wishing everyone boundless greetings on Navratri. May this auspicious festival, filled with devotion, courage, restraint and resolve, bring new strength and confidence in everyone’s life. Jai Mata Di!”
Referring to the concurrent ‘GST Savings Festival’, the Prime Minister noted that the coming days would also witness a renewed push for the Swadeshi movement. “This time, the auspicious occasion of Navratri is very special. Along with the GST Savings Festival, the mantra of Swadeshi is going to receive a new energy during this period. Let us come together in collective efforts for the fulfillment of the resolve for a developed and self-reliant India,” Modi said.
Marking the first day of Navratri, the Prime Minister also offered prayers to Goddess Shailputri. “Today, during Navratri, is the special occasion of worshipping Maa Shailputri. I pray that with the love and blessings of the Mother Goddess, everyone’s life may be filled with prosperity and good health,” he said in another post on X.
Navratri, a nine-day Hindu festival, is celebrated across the country with devotion and fervour. It symbolises the victory of good over evil and honours the nine forms of Goddess Durga.
