Bhopal: Pankaj Tyagi has officially taken over as the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Bhopal Division, West Central Railway. He assumed the role on Monday, succeeding the outgoing DRM, Devashish Tripathi.
A distinguished officer from the 1997 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Tyagi brings a wealth of experience to his new position. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Executive Director (Land & Amenity) at the Railway Board in New Delhi.
Tyagi began his career with Indian Railways as an Assistant Engineer in the Mughalsarai Division of Eastern Railway. Throughout his career, he has held numerous key administrative and technical roles, demonstrating strong leadership and expertise. His previous positions include Chief Project Manager in Meerut for NCRTC, Director (Civil Engineering Planning) at the Railway Board, and Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) in Firozpur.
Pankaj Tyagi holds a degree in Civil Engineering and has a rich background in technical training both in India and abroad. He has undertaken management training in Singapore and Malaysia and received specialized training in tunnel construction in Norway and the United Kingdom.
His notable accomplishments include:
* Simplifying land policies for Indian Railways and publishing the related master circular.
* Leading the alignment, planning, and implementation of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project between Delhi and Meerut.
* Establishing the Railway Safety Fund as a Director at the Railway Board to address pending track renewal work.
