New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday carried out searches at twelve locations across the Dantewada and Sukma districts of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region.

The raids were conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into a 2023 case involving an IED blast and ambush attack perpetrated by armed cadres of the proscribed CPI (Maoist) organisation.

According to officials, the searches were held at the premises of suspects and accused persons connected to the Aranpur IED Blast case.

The attack, carried out by members of the Darbha Division Committee of the CPI (Maoist), occurred near Pedka village under the Aranpur police station limits in Dantewada district on April 26, 2023.

The searches led to the seizure of several incriminating materials, including cash, handwritten letters, and printed receipt books related to levy collection by the CPI (Maoist), along with the suspects’ digital devices.

The individuals are believed to have close links with Maoist cadres involved in the deadly attack.

The NIA continues to investigate the case, in which two charge sheets have so far been filed against 27 arrested individuals.
