- Five vehicles recovered
Bhopal: In a major breakthrough against property crime, the Kamala Nagar police have arrested two serial vehicle thieves and recovered stolen vehicles worth over Rs 5 lakh. The arrests are part of an intensified police campaign to curb the rising number of vehicle thefts in the city.
The two suspects, Rehan Khan (20) and Rameshwar Vele (24), were nabbed following a tip-off. During questioning, the duo confessed to a string of thefts, including an electric bicycle, a Hero Splendor motorcycle, a Passion Pro motorcycle, a KTM Duke, and an Activa scooter. The police have linked them to multiple vehicle theft cases across at least a dozen police stations in Bhopal.
Rameshwar Vele, a career criminal, has a shocking record with 28 cases of theft filed against him in various police stations across Bhopal. His accomplice, Rehan Khan, also has six cases to his name. The arrests are expected to significantly reduce the number of vehicle thefts in the city. The recovered vehicles have been seized, and the accused are being held for further investigation.
