Ranchi, Feb 27 (UNI) In view of the upcoming Holi festival, the leaves of all police officers and personnel across the state have been cancelled.
The order has been issued by the Jharkhand Police headquarters, directing all districts to ensure strict compliance. Clear instructions have been communicated to all Zonal Inspectors General (IGs), Range Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) that leaves of police personnel shall remain suspended with immediate effect.
As per the directive, no leave will be sanctioned until the conclusion of the Holi festival, except under special circumstances. The order issued by the Additional Director General (Operations) states that any officer or personnel seeking leave on urgent grounds must clearly mention the specific reason in the application. Leave will be granted only if the competent authority finds the reason satisfactory. No leave will be approved without valid and compelling justification.
The move comes as part of heightened security arrangements during the festival period. Holi celebrations often witness large gatherings, processions and community events across the state, posing potential law and order challenges. Authorities have emphasized the need for full deployment of police forces to promptly address any untoward incidents and ensure peaceful celebrations statewide.
