India no longer a follower, setting example for world: PM Modi

Sambhal (UP), Feb 19 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that by imbibing the mantra of development as well as heritage, today for the first time India is at a stage where we are not following, we are setting an example.

After laying the foundation stone of the Kalki Dham temple, the Prime Minister said, “Today on one hand our pilgrimage sites are being developed, and on the other hand high-tech infrastructure is also being prepared in the cities. If temples are being built today, then new medical colleges are also being built across the country. Today our ancient idols are also being brought back from abroad and foreign investment is also coming in record numbers. These changes are proof that the cycle of time has turned. A new era is knocking at our doors today.”

He said India is a nation that can pull out victory even from defeat. “We faced so many attacks for hundreds of years. Had it been any other country, any other society, it would have been destroyed completely due to so many continuous attacks. Yet, we not only persevered, but came out even stronger. Today those sacrifices of centuries are bearing fruit. Today, in India’s Amrit Kaal, the seeds of India’s pride, progress, and strength are sprouting. One after the other, so much new is happening in every field,” he said.

Modi said that today for the first time India is at a stage where we are not following but setting an example. “Today, for the first time, India is being seen as a center of possibilities in the field of technology and digital technology. We are being recognized as an innovation hub. For the first time, we have reached such a big milestone as the fifth largest economy in the world,” he said.

He said, “We have become the first country to reach the south pole of the Moon. For the first time, modern trains like Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat are running in India. Preparations are being made to run bullet trains in India for the first time. For the first time, the country has such a large network of hi-tech highways and expressways and its strength. For the first time, an Indian citizen, no matter which country in the world he is in, feels so proud. This wave of positive thinking and confidence that we are seeing in the country is a wonderful feeling.”

The Prime Minister said that today our power is infinite and our possibilities are also immense. “Just last month, on January 22, the country saw the completion of 500 years of wait in Ayodhya. That supernatural experience of Ram Lalla’s presence, that divine feeling, still makes us emotional. Meanwhile, we have also witnessed the inauguration of the first huge temple in Abu Dhabi, on Arab soil, hundreds of kilometers away from the country,” he said.

He said, “What was earlier beyond imagination has now become a reality. And now we are witnessing the laying of the foundation stone of the grand Kalki Dham here in Sambhal.”

Modi said that what could be a greater good fortune than having such spiritual experiences, such moments of cultural pride one after the other, in the lifetime of our generation? “During this period, we have seen the glory of Vishwanath Dham flourishing on the land of Kashi. It is during this period that we are seeing the rejuvenation of Kashi. It is during this period that we have seen the glory of Mahalok of Mahakaal. We have seen the development of Somnath, the reconstruction of Kedar Valley. We are imbibing this mantra of development and heritage,” he said.

He said a new era has started from January 22. “When Lord Shri Ram ruled, his influence lasted for thousands of years. Similarly, with the consecration of Ram Lalla, a new journey is beginning for India for the next thousand years. This resolution of the entire millennium for nation-building in the Amrit Kaal is not just a wish. This is a resolution our culture has shown by living in every period,” he said.

The Prime Minister said Acharya Pramod Krishnam has done a deep study about Lord Kalki. “Kalki is both the initiator of the transformation of the wheel of time Kalachakra and also the source of inspiration and perhaps that is why Kalki Dham is going to be a place dedicated to the God who is yet to be incarnated,” he said.

He said, “I knew Pramod Krishnam from a distance as a political person, I was not acquainted with him. But just a few days ago, when I met him for the first time, I also came to know how hard he works in such religious-spiritual activities. They had to fight a long battle with the previous governments for the Kalki temple. I had to make rounds of the court also. He was telling me that at one time he was being told that building a temple would spoil the peace and order. Today, in our government, Pramod Krishnam has been able to start this work with peace of mind. This temple will be proof of how positive we are about a better future.”

Modi said, “Today is also the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This day therefore becomes more sacred and more inspiring. The cultural revival that we are seeing in the country today, the pride in our identity and the confidence in its establishment, we get that inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj only. On this occasion, I pay my respectful obeisance at the feet of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.”

He said for the nation the energy to succeed comes from collectiveness. “Our Vedas say, ‘Sahasra Sheersha Purusha Sahasraksha Sahasra Past’. That is, there are thousands, lakhs, crores of hands for construction. There are thousands, millions, billions of legs to move. Today we are seeing the same vast consciousness in India. In the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas’ every countryman is working for the nation with one feeling and one resolve.

The PM said that in the last 10 years, more than four crore people have been given permanent houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 11 crore families have been provided with toilets, 2.5 crore families have been provided electricity at home and more than 10 crore families have been provided water connections.

He said, “Free ration to 80 crore people, gas cylinders at low prices to 10 crore women, Ayushman card for healthy life to 50 crore people, Kisan Samman Nidhi to about 10 crore farmers, free vaccine to every countryman during the Corona period, a big thing like Swachh Bharat campaign. Today these works of India are being discussed all over the world. Work could be done on this scale because these efforts of the government added strength to the countrymen.”
