Mahila Polytechnic College, Shivaji Nagar, recently hosted a vital health screening and awareness camp dedicated to the well-being of adolescent girls. This collaborative initiative by the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) office Bhopal, Sabka Sahara Social Welfare Society, and the Bhopal Obstetrics and Gynecological Society focused on empowering young women with crucial health and nutritional knowledge.
Expert medical professionals, including Dr. Pushpa Devi and Dr. Akanksha Yadav, alongside dedicated nursing officers and healthcare workers, provided comprehensive services during the camp. The sessions addressed critical aspects of adolescent health, including anemia prevention through balanced diets and iron-folic acid supplementation, menstrual hygiene practices, and the importance of mental well-being.
The camp witnessed active participation, with 102 adolescent girls undergoing thorough health examinations. Digital hemoglobinometers were used to assess anemia levels, while screenings for hypertension and other health concerns were also conducted. Furthermore, the camp facilitated the creation of 53 ABHA IDs and 6 Ayushman cards, ensuring better access to healthcare services.
The successful organization of the camp benefited from the dedicated support of Dr. Abhijit Deshmukh, Dr. Priya Chittawar, Dr. Abha Jain, and the college management.
Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal, emphasized the camp’s significance in detecting anemia and other health issues prevalent among adolescent girls. He highlighted the expert guidance provided on the benefits and proper usage of iron-folic acid, underscoring the commitment to fostering a healthier future for these young women.
