Bhopal: On the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya, a grand event was held in Madhya Pradesh under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Vivah Yojana. Hundreds of couples across the state were united in marriage, receiving blessings from Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, who joined the ceremony in Ujjain through video conferencing.

On Wednesday, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed various mass marriage ceremonies held across the state via VC. He explained the significance of Akshay Tritiya, stating that anything obtained on this day continues to grow and never diminishes. “The true meaning of Akshay is that which never depletes,” he said. The event saw a remarkable turnout: 929 couples tied the knot in Chhindwara, 915 in Panna, 80 in Ananddham Shivpuri, 121 in Indore, 80 in Pandhania (Dhar district), and 80 in Naya Gaon (Harda district).
Wishing a bright future for newlyweds
Dr. Yadav extended his best wishes to all newlywed couples for a prosperous future. He emphasized that human life is the fruit of years of good deeds, and in Sanatan culture, every individual must undergo 16 sacraments during their lifetime. He reminded the couples that while challenges and joys will come and go in family life, they must always uphold family values. In today’s digital age, he urged both husbands and wives to maintain harmony and focus to prevent any challenges in relationships.
Collective weddings free couples from unnecessary expenses
CM Dr. Yadav also praised the collective marriage events for reducing unnecessary wedding expenses. He encouraged the newlyweds to take full advantage of government schemes and work towards the prosperity and happiness of their families. He added that the state budget for this year has allocated Rs 27,100 crore for the welfare of sisters and daughters. He mentioned that many other states are now following Madhya Pradesh’s successful model. The state government continues to empower women through self-help groups and strives to increase farmers’ incomes through industrial development.
