Tribute Paid to Cows at Rewa’s Gaushalas
Bhopal, October 22, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla asserted that the prosperity of the state and the nation hinges on the well-being of farmers and cattle. Attending Govardhan Puja ceremonies at the Basaman Mama Gauvansh Van Vihar and Laxmanbagh Gaushala in Rewa, he emphasized that this annual celebration is a cornerstone of our Sanatan culture, teaching us to stay connected with nature.
Cows Crucial for National Prosperity
Deputy CM Shukla stated that protecting and conserving cattle is crucial for empowering farmers. He referenced Lord Krishna’s act of lifting the Govardhan mountain to protect the cows of Gokul, underscoring the spiritual importance of Gauvansh in India. He stressed that genuine prosperity will only be achieved through the abundance of cows and farmers.

Government Focus on Cow Welfare
To fulfill Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s pledge to double milk production, the state government is actively supporting cow conservation and providing additional grants to cattle keepers. Efforts are underway to make gaushalas self-reliant and prioritize the market availability of products derived from cattle waste. The Deputy CM concluded that involving the administration in such festivals helps future generations stay aware of and preserve our rich cultural heritage. He personally performed the Gau Pujan and honored individuals for their excellent service to cows.
