‘Get into the habit of asking names’

  • ‘If you want to keep the future of children safe then’…
  • Hindu organization put up posters after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam

Bhopal: The recent terrorist attack on April 22 in the Beisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, has ignited outrage across the nation. Eyewitnesses reported that the terrorists asked people about their religion, made them recite the Kalma, and then shot them. In the wake of this tragedy, Hindu organizations have put up provocative posters urging people to get into the habit of asking names as a measure to protect the future of children.

VHP and Bajrang Dal Behind the Posters

In Bhopal, large posters have been placed on several major streets by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal. The posters bear a bold message: “Get into the habit of asking names. For the safety of our children’s future, we must start asking names.” These posters have been displayed at various city squares, aiming to raise awareness and invoke a sense of vigilance among citizens.

Political Tension Likely to Escalate

Though no statements have yet come from leaders of these Hindu organizations or from any political parties like BJP or Congress, there is growing speculation that these posters may stir up a political storm in the state. The message on the posters could further intensify the ongoing political discourse around issues of security and community identity.

Similar Posters During Diwali

This is not the first time Hindu organizations in Bhopal have made their presence felt with such posters. During Diwali, Bajrang Dal had appealed to Hindus to shop only from Hindu-owned businesses, a call that sparked heated political debates between the parties.

The recent poster campaign adds a new layer to the political and social climate in Madhya Pradesh, raising questions about community tensions and the role of religious identity in contemporary politics.
