New Delhi, May 10, (UNI) A Delhi Court after hearing on Friday ordered to frame a sexual charge against former Wrestling Federation of India Chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the matter related to alleged sexual harassment of five female wrestlers.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Priyanka Rajpoot after hearing found sufficient material to frame charges against accused Brij Bhushan Saran Singh for the offences under section 354 and 354D of the Indian Penal Code”.
The court has also framed charges under section 506 part 1 of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) against Sharan Singh.
The ACMM court had earlier dismissed the application of Sharan Singh seeking further probe in the matter on the ground that he was not in the country on the date when the offence of harrassment was alleged and listed the matter on May, 10 for deciding the issue of charge.
In this matter after investigation police had filed a charge sheet against Singh under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code(IPC).
