Four devotees killed, 9 others injured as tourist bus collides with trailer in Jaunpur

Jaunpur (UP), Sep 15 (UP) Four persons were today killed, and nine others were injured when a tourist bus of devotees going from Ayodhya to Varanasi collided with a trailer near Sihipur railway crossing in Line Bazar area of Jaunpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here.
Police sources said that while four devotees died on the spot, nine were seriously injured and have been admitted to the hospital.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Kaustubh said that the devotees who came from Chhattisgarh in the bus had gone to Ayodhya to visit Lord Shri Ram, from where they were returning and going to Varanasi.”On the way to Varanasi the bus in a bid to overtake the trailer on the highway near Sihipur railway crossing of Line Bazar police station area, collided with it,” he said.
He said that the front part of the bus was blown off. “There were about 50 people in the bus at that time, out of which four people died on the spot while nine people were seriously injured. All the injured have been immediately admitted to the district hospital where they are undergoing treatment,” he said.
The SP said that the police have inspected the spot and taken the trailer and the bus into custody. “The matter is being thoroughly investigated,” he said.
Police said that the reasons behind the accident are being ascertained. The administration has assured all possible help to the families of the deceased.
