Devotion fills Ayodhya as Dharma Dhwaj hoisted at Ram Mandir

Ayodhya, Nov 25 (UNI) Ayodhya was immersed in devotion on Tuesday as the Dharma Dhwaj was hoisted atop the Shri Ram Mandir.

Thousands gathered at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk to watch the live telecast of the Dhwajarohan. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the flag, the crowd erupted in chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” Devotees filled major streets, including Dharmapath, chanting “Jai Shri Ram.”

Large groups of devotees arrived from neighbouring districts such as Sultanpur, Basti, Ambedkar Nagar and Barabanki, as well as from other parts of North India. Rajendra Prasad Pandey from Shravasti, who reached Ayodhya on November 17, said he felt proud witnessing the historic moment, praising efforts to enhance Ayodhya’s beauty and stature. Vishwanath Jaiswal, also from Shravasti, called the temple’s construction a historic achievement.

A devotee from Gopalganj, Bihar, dressed as Hanuman, energised the gathering with devotional singing and dancing.

Women devotees Madhu, Dharana, Santosh, and Pooja from Delhi said the Ram Mandir complex felt “heavenly.” Sant Ramakant Sharma, a visitor for 25 years, noted that Ayodhya had both modernised and regained its Treta Yuga glory. With drums and cymbals playing, sants turned the occasion into a divine cultural festival.

The event emerged not just as a religious ritual but as a symbol of the confluence of faith, history, and modernity, reaffirming Ayodhya’s spiritual significance.
