Congress targets BJP over tax raid on medical supplier

By Special Correspondent

Bhopal: The Congress on Thursday sharpened its attack on the BJP government following income tax raids on Science House Medical Pvt. Ltd. in Bhopal and Indore. Party spokesperson Praveen Dhaulpure alleged that the company, which for years supplied machines and services to hospitals and the state health department, was more interested in “draining the treasury than curing patients.”

He claimed large-scale tax evasion and GST irregularities raised questions over whether the health department was engaged more in “manipulation under the guise of treatment” than genuine medical care. According to Congress, the firm had flourished under BJP protection for nearly three decades, turning corruption into what Dhaulpure called “VIP treatment under Ayushman Bharat.”

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has ordered an inquiry, signalling the seriousness of the case. Congress demanded that the full raid report be made public, action be taken not only against the company but also health officials and BJP protectors, and clarity provided on the scale of losses to taxpayers.
