Congress plotted communal tension to disrupt Ram temple consecration: Assam CM

Guwahati, Jan 25 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday alleged that the Congress tried to vitiate the atmosphere by creating communal tension and “disrupt” the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram temple during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

Addressing a press conference in Janata Bhawan, Dispur, Sarma claimed that Gandhi intended to incite communal tension during his visit to the Batradowa Satra on the day of Ram temple’s consecration in Ayodhya. However, the people of Assam prevented any such occurrence. He claimed that Gandhi intended to “disrupt” the consecration ceremony by vitiating the atmosphere, but it didn’t succeed.

He mentioned that Gandhi visited Guwahati but didn’t have time to stop for two minutes at Bhupen Hazarika’s memorial or visit the Kamakhya Temple.

Gandhi also did not visit Hajo Madhav Mandir, Puwa Mecca, and Barpeta Satra in Barpeta, nor did he go to the Gurudwara in Dhubri, he claimed.

He alleged that Gandhi’s sole intention was to create communal tension.
