New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Congress MLA S Vijayadharani on Saturday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
Vijayadharani joined the party in the presence of Union Minister L Murugan and the Party’s National Secretary Arvind Menon, who is the poll in-charge for Tamil Nadu.
Congress leader Vijayadharani was elected as MLA from Vilvancode constituency in Kanyakumari district in 2021, where the BJP has a significant presence.
Addressing a press conference after joining the party, Vijayadharani said that “Leadership of Modiji is important to this country”.
“I have been in Congress since the beginning of my career. I have shifted to a party for the first time. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India is placed quite high on the international level….BJP should be more strengthened” she added.
