Bhopal: The District Congress Committee (City), Bhopal, on Thursday organised a gratitude and felicitation ceremony at Jawahar Bhavan, Roshanpura Square, to honour Engineer Praveen Saxena, recently elected as the District Congress President (City). The event was aimed at expressing appreciation and solidarity from party workers following his appointment.
Alongside the felicitation, the committee also convened a “Voter Rights Satyagraha” meeting and staged a “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” (Thieves of Votes, Vacate the Chair) march. The march saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of Congress workers as well as citizens, underscoring the party’s renewed mobilisation drive in the city.
The programme witnessed the presence of several senior Congress leaders. Madhya Pradesh Congress in-charge Harish Chaudhary, co-in-charge Sanjay Dutt, and Pradesh Congress Committee President Jitu Patwari attended the gathering as chief guests. In their addresses, the leaders lauded the collective efforts of the cadre, urging them to remain united in the fight for democratic rights and transparency in governance.
The ceremony concluded with party workers pledging to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level, ensuring that the Congress message resonates across every ward and neighbourhood of Bhopal.
