Big success for BJP in urban body by-polls

  • Won 16 out of 22 corporator seats

The impact of the results of the assembly elections is also visible on the by-elections of the urban body. In the by-elections for 22 councilor posts in Madhya Pradesh, BJP won 16 seats. Congress could win only three seats. Independent candidates have been successful on three seats.

Voting was held on January 5 under the by-elections in Panchayats and urban bodies in the state. In this, votes were cast for 9 thousand 220 Panch, 56 Sarpanch, 15 District Panchayat member and one District Panchayat member. At the same time, voting was also held in 20 wards of different districts.

BJP’s Dr. Rehan wins in Bhopal

Voting was held on January 5 for one councilor and a total of 355 Panch posts in Bhopal. Candidates from other parties including BJP-Congress were in the election fray. In the by-election of ward no. 41 of Bhopal, Dr. Rehan Siddiqui of BJP was facing competition from Mohammad Faheem of Congress, Asad Ali of Aam Aadmi Party, Tauqeer Ahmed Nizami of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. 10 thousand 20 votes were cast in the ward. Among these, BJP’s Rehan Siddiqui got 4,873 votes. Congress’s Mohammad Faheem got only 2,253 votes.

BJP won unopposed in two wards

In the urban body by-elections, BJP candidates won unopposed in Panna and Rajgarh. Apart from this, BJP won two seats each in Katni and Dhar and one seat each in Bhopal, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Maihar, Ratlam, Jabalpur, Maihar, Betul, Damoh and Dewas.
