CCTV cameras installed
Strong security measures are being put in place for Ganesh idol immersion in Bhopal, with CCTV surveillance, divers, fire brigade teams, and cranes to be deployed at all major ghats. Devotees will not be allowed to enter the water, and large idols will be immersed using cranes and hydraulic equipment.
Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra informed that CCTV cameras will be installed at key immersion sites to monitor the entire process. Divers and fire brigade personnel will remain on standby to respond swiftly to any emergencies. To ensure crowd control and public safety, barricading will be set up along the main immersion routes and ghats, with traffic police deployed for smooth vehicular movement.
The Municipal Corporation has prepared temporary *kunds* for immersing small idols. Devotees can leave their idols here, while large idols will be immersed at designated ghats using cranes. Worship materials will be collected separately and disposed of responsibly by Municipal Corporation staff.
Key ghats like Prempura Ghat, Khatlapura Ghat, Shahpura, Bairagarh, Hathaikheda Dam, and Rani Kamlapati Ghat have been identified as major immersion sites, where special arrangements have been made to ensure a safe and orderly celebration.
