Bhopal Bicycle Riders Group makes people aware

  • Cycle 20-40 km every day, added over 2000 members in 3 years

Bhopal: These days, members of the city’s Bhopal Bicycle Riders Group are cycling 20-40 km daily. This group of more than 450 youth is making people aware about cycling before the Corona period. In this, a group of youth along with Vinod Pandey of the group have not only been cycling themselves for the last 3 years, but have also been motivating people to cycle. Pandey told that initially very few members used to come for cycling. But during the Corona period, there was a sudden increase in people’s interest in cycling to improve exercise and immunity. When the group members felt stronger by cycling regularly for 30 consecutive days, everyone made cycling a part of their daily routine.

Lakshya has traveled to many places with the aim of adding 1 member from every household.

Group officials said that it is their endeavor to get at least one member from each family involved in cycling in the next one year. This will not only promote cycling but will also increase physical fitness. Most of the members of the group have made cycling a part of their daily routine, under which many members, apart from regular cycling, are also using the cycle to go to office two days a week.

According to the members associated with the group, now apart from Sundays, they also cycle up to 200 km on other holidays in the week. Under cycling, the members have cycled to Bhopal and nearby big temples. Among these, Bhojpur, Kankali Temple, Jain Temple, Salkanpur, Sanchi, Kankali Temple, Sehore Ganesh Temple are prominent.

College students take part in Western singing competition

Bhopal: A Western singing competition, including both solo and group performances, took place at Government Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Science and Commerce College as part of the Inter-collegiate District Level Youth Festival in the city.

The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the college’s Principal, Dr. Sanjay Telang. Present at the occasion were Dr. Harsha Jalori, the Youth Festival Coordinator, along with members Dr. Anita Mandloi, Dr. Ekta Pal, Dr. Ruchi Soni, Dr. Smita Verma, as well as the judges, participating teams, their team managers, staff, and students.

Dr. Roli Shukla, the Youth Festival District Coordinator, Dr. Rajesh Srivastava, the Student Union and Media In-charge, and Dr. Shalini Nema all played crucial roles in organizing this event.

In the Western Solo Singing competition, Lagan Jhanwar from IPER College, Bhopal secured the first position, Shivnandini Dubey from Satya Sai College for Women achieved the second position, and Yashvardhan Tiwari from IEHE Bhopal stood third.

In the Western Group Singing category, Salina and Group secured the first position, Ayush Soni and Group took the second position, and the third position was secured by Srishti Dubey from Sarojini Naidu Government Girls PG Autonomous College.

The panel of judges consisted of Shruti Adhikari, the first female Santoor player, Ninad Adhikari, a well-known Santoor player, and Prasanna Rao, a renowned musician.

The competition concluded with the distribution of prizes.
