Mumbai, Nov 25 (UNI) Amitabh Bachchan paid a heartfelt tribute to veteran actor Dharmendra, expressing deep grief over the legendary star’s demise. In an emotional note, Bachchan wrote that “another courageous giant has left us”, adding that Dharmendra’s departure has created a silence that is “painful to bear.”
Recalling the late actor fondly as “Dharamji,” Bachchan described him as a symbol of greatness—admired not only for his personality but also for his large heart and simplicity. He has left the stage… and with him, he has taken away a warmth that is impossible to replace, he wrote.
In his tribute, Amitabh highlighted Dharmendra’s roots, saying the fragrance of the soil from his Punjab village stayed with him throughout his life and career. Even as the entertainment industry underwent constant change over the decades, Dharmendra remained the same—unchanged, honest, and deeply human.
His smile, his charm, and the infectious energy he carried reached everyone around him. Such examples are rare in this profession, Bachchan noted. He added that Dharmendra’s passing has created a void that will forever remain.
