Action against corruption in Bengal be hardened after June 4: Modi

Jalpaiguri, Apr 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday vowed to take stringent action against corruption in West Bengal after June 4 and assured the poor people, that property worth Rs 3000 crore, which was siphoned off and seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), would be returned.

The Prime Minister said, ” It is Modi ki guarantee. Modi gives guarantees, INDIA bloc gives gaalis. ”

He said they were working 24X7 for 2047 to build India the third biggest economic power globally and the efforts will continue until the goal is achieved.

” To fulfill our dream of Viksit Bharat, every moment of my life is dedicated to the country. I am working 24/7 for 2047… ” Modi said.

Addressing a Vijay Sankalp election rally in support of BJP candidate Jayanta Kumar Roy for the Jalpaiguri Lok Sabha seat, Modi said while they were fighting to root out corruption, the TMC, Left, and Congress allegedly were attempting to ” save corruption”.

” The trio is supporting each other to live up to corruption and playing with divisive forces, ” Modi reiterated.

” This election 2024 is about a stronger and stable government at the Centre, ” Modi said and added that a stronger central government mean the country’s glory would extend around the world.

“Actions against the corrupt will increase after June 4,” Modi said.

June 4 is the day when the results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced after the 7-phase of polling from April 19 to June 1, 2024, ended.

” The TMC government is putting obstacles on the implementation of Centre’s welfare schemes for poor people, ” Modi alleged listing some of the schemes, which were not implemented in Bengal.

The Prime Minister also told the massive gathering that corruption in West Bengal was in every part of the daily lives, the law of court has to come for justices.

He also referred to Sandeshkhali’s episode in North 24 Parganas where the TMC leaders were allegedly involved in torturing the women and said the perpetrators would be punished and would spend the rest of their lives in jail.

Modi alleged that many central schemes for the alleviation of poverty were not either implemented or extended, for which the people of Bengal were deprived of benefits like Ayushman Bharat, free gas connection, potable water in every household, and self-reliance for the women of the society.

“‘Phir Eik Baar Modi Sarkaar’ can be heard in West Bengal and the entire country. Jalpaiguri has decided that Jayant Roy will be made victorious with a record number of votes on April 19.”

“G20 meeting was organised in north Bengal to ensure this region gets limelight in the international tourism map. Today, the central government is developing wider roads and better rail connectivity in this region. These kinds of efforts will ensure new employment and opportunities,” Modi said at the outset.

He expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the storm on March 31 in which five people were killed and many houses were ravaged to the ground.

Modi also lambasted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his comment on Jammu and Kashmir and said J & K is the crown of India.

The Prime Minister said while the NDA government has scrapped Article 370, the INDI alliance was canvassing for its restoration and trying to divide the country.
