BHEL TGM department enhances productivity

Bhopal: In a significant stride towards manufacturing excellence, BHEL’s Tool, Gauge and Machine (TGM) Department organised a special programme today in the esteemed presence of Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, General Manager and Unit Head (HEP Bhopal). During the event, the gang slot die tool for segmental stator punching (2300 mm diameter)—developed for prestigious projects such as M/s Adani Powers – Kirloskar and NTPC, Singrauli—was officially handed over by Varun Pratap Singh, Senior Manager (TGM), to Dalip Kumar Pal, Manager (Press Shop).

The newly designed tool is set to nearly double the punching productivity of the press shop while simultaneously enhancing the precision and quality of the punching process. Notably, all seven types of punching required in the stator core can now be produced using this single, advanced tool—marking a major leap in efficiency and technological innovation.

The event was also graced by Rupesh Telang, General Manager (Feeders and Transformer Manufacturing, Commercial & Maintenance), Vikas Khare, General Manager (EM), S.A. Dongre, General Manager (Feeders), and several senior officers including Ved Vrat Khare, Mukesh Kumar Maravi, Bhushan Lal Verma, Sanilal Toppo, Rajesh Toppo, and Yogesh Hinge, along with TGM department employees.

Addressing the gathering, Upadhyay lauded the TGM team for their innovation and timely supply of critical tooling, commending their contribution to the successful design and manufacture of this vital press tool for BHEL’s prestigious thermal project orders.
