Rain forces no-result in India-Bangladesh WWC clash

Navi Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) The 28th league match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 between India Women and Bangladesh Women at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy here today ended in a no result due to persistent rain.

Bangladesh, after being asked to bat first, were restricted to 119 for 9 in 27 overs before rain halted play.

Radha Yadav led India’s bowling effort with figures of 3 for 30, while Shree Charani picked up 2 for 23. Sharmin Akhter top-scored for Bangladesh with 36 off 53 balls, and Sobhana Mostary chipped in with a brisk 26 off 21 deliveries.

In reply, India made an assured start and reached 57 without loss in 8.4 overs when rain returned, forcing the match to be abandoned. Smriti Mandhana remained unbeaten on 34 off 27 balls, striking six boundaries, while Amanjot Kaur was 15 not out.

Both teams shared one point each.

India will play Australia in semifinal faceoff at the same venue on October 30.
