PSPB win Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2025 Final

Jamshedpur, Oct 10 (UNI) The 5th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2025 came to a close as Petroleum Sports Promotion Board won the final against Comptroller & Auditor General of India with a commanding scoreline of 3-0 at the Naval Tata Hockey Academy ISWP Ground here in Jharkhand.

In the 3rd/4th place match, Services Sports Control Board defeated Food Corporation of India, 3-2 in shootout after a thrilling 1-1 draw over the four quarters.

In the final, both sides couldn’t be separated in the first quarter, however, thanks to field goals from Sumit Kumar (22′) and Sudeep Chirmako (28′) in the second quarter, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board established a comfortable lead by the end of first half.

Comptroller & Auditor General of India tried to reduce the deficit in the third quarter but their opposition ensured they were in control of the game.

In the last quarter, Yousuf Affan (54′) scored another field goal and sealed the victory and the title for Petroleum Sports Promotion Board.

In the 3rd/4th place match, Services Sports Control Board and Food Corporation of India played out an intense 1-1 draw over the four quarters.

Captain Rajbhar Pawan (15′) converted a penalty corner in the 15th minute for Services Sports Control Board to take the lead, however, Food Corporation of India’s Paramvir Singh (30 ‘) too scored through a penalty corner to level the tie again.

The scores remained the same in the second half and the match headed into a shootout. Anand Lakra, Rahul Kumar Rajbhar and Sukhdev Singh scored for Services Sports Control Board in the shootout to claim the bronze medal for their side.
