Train disruptions affect passengers traveling from Bhopal and MP

Bhopal: Passengers traveling from Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh are facing significant disruptions due to traffic issues on the down line in the Kathua-Madhopur section of the Jammu division. In response, Indian Railways has announced that three major trains will short originate from intermediate stations instead of their usual starting points.

The Jhelum Express (11078), which typically carries around 300 passengers daily from Bhopal, will now start from Ambala on August 30. Travelers will need to reach Ambala from Katra or Jammu by road before boarding the train.

Similarly, the Malwa Express (12920), which accommodates over 400 passengers daily from Jammu, Punjab, and Delhi to Bhopal, will short originate from New Delhi on August 29. Passengers must arrange to travel from Katra to New Delhi to catch the train.

Additionally, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Tirunelveli Express (16788) will also short originate from New Delhi on August 31. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria confirmed that these changes only affect up trains, advising passengers to check for updates on the Indian Railways website or the NTES mobile app before traveling.
