Bhopal, July 28 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today paid tributes on the inaugural day of the monsoon session to persons who departed in the inter-session period. Subsequent to the obituary references, Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar adjourned proceedings until tomorrow as a mark of respect to the deceased.
Earlier, as soon as proceedings started, the Speaker mentioned the demises of Gujarat’s erstwhile chief minister Vijay Rupani, the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Air India plane crash at Ahmedabad, former members Raja Surendra Bahadur Singh, Raghunath Choudhary, Shivshankar Lal Munna Kheri, Khemraj Patidar; ex-Union ministers Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Girija Vyas; film personality Manoj Kumar and folk artiste Ram Sahay Pandey.
In the words of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, “Erstwhile Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri had asked Kumar to make a film on peasants and the result was ‘Upkar’. Kumar urged Shastri to watch the entire film and the latter did so despite his busy schedule. Kumar made films while comprehending the original culture of the country.”
Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar also paid tributes. A brief silence was observed. The monsoon session is to conclude on August 8.
