RPF launches child trafficking awareness drive at Narmadapuram Station

Bhopal: Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Debashish Tripathi and the supervision of the Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) continues to raise awareness against child trafficking — a serious social concern.

As part of this ongoing initiative, a special awareness campaign was conducted at Narmadapuram station, led by Sub-Inspector Santosh Patel and his team. The campaign covered platforms 1 and 2, trains 11057 and 22537, ticket counters, waiting rooms, and circulating areas. Around 35 passengers were sensitized during the drive.

Travelers were informed that spotting an unaccompanied, fearful, or suspicious child, or seeing someone transporting minors for forced labor, could be a case of child trafficking — a grave criminal offense. Passengers were encouraged to immediately report such instances to the nearest RPF post or call the Child Helpline 1098.

The RPF assured confidentiality of informants and prompt action, including rescue and legal procedures.

This initiative is a vital step by Indian Railways to safeguard children and ensure safe travel. By empowering citizens with information, the RPF aims to eliminate child trafficking and protect the innocence of childhood.
