31 persons to be conferred with ‘Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards’-2023

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) As many as 31 persons, including three posthumous, will be conferred with ‘Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards’-2023.

President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday approved the conferment of awards.

According to Ministry of Home Affairs statement, three persons will be conferred with Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak to seven and 21 persons with Jeevan Raksha Padak.

The Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak will be conferred on Anthony Vanmawia from Mizoram, Melody Lalremruati from Mizoram and Sooraj R of the Central Reserve Police Force posthumously.

The Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak will be conferred on Sahil Bisso Lad from Goa; Kajal Kumari, Jharkhand; Naveen Kumar D from Telangana; Vinod Kumar of Border Roads Organisation; Havildar Shera Ram, Ministry of Defence; Mukesh Kumar of National Disaster Response Force and Naresh Kumar, National Investigation Agency.

Besides, the Jeevan Raksha Padak will be conferred on M S Anil Kumar, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; Jeetam Parameswara Rao, Andhra Pradesh; Samarjit Basumatary, Assam; Sudesh Kumar, Chandigarh; Justin George and Wilson from Kerala; Padma Thinlass and Mohd Afzal, Ladakh; Adika Rajaram Patil, Priyanka Bharat Kale and Sonali Sunil Balode, Maharashtra; Maria Michael A and S Vijayakumar from Tamil Nadu; Naresh Joshi, Uttarakhand; Arjun Malik, Border Roads Organisation; Amit Kumar Singh, Border Security Force; Sher Singh, Central Industrial Security Force; Sonu Sharma, Central Industrial Security Force; Abdul Hameed and Sunil Kumar Mishra, Ministry of Defence and Shashikant Kumar, Ministry of Railways.

Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards are given to a person for meritorious act of human nature in saving the life of a person. The award is given in three categories, namely, Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak. Persons of all walks of life are eligible for these awards. The award can also be conferred posthumously.

The decoration of the award (medal, certificate signed by the Union Home Minister and lump sum monetary allowance) is presented to the awardees in due course by the respective Union Ministries/Organizations/State Government to which the awardee belongs, the statement added.
